Among the approaches that inform my practice, Carl Jung’s theory of psychological type provides an in-depth view of an individual's mental processes and preferences as well as insights and tools for improving interpersonal relationships across different types of settings.
Development over the life span is also central to Jung's theory in that the emergence of the mental processes of perception and judgment, as well as introversion and extroversion, occurs at different stages. The goal of development is individuation, signified by balance, wholeness, and striving toward the achievement of one's original potential.
I have been certified since 1995 to administer the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) and I have worked with individuals and groups in various settings, such as the home, school settings, workplace, and community. The MBTI is utilized to promote self-understanding, collaboration with others, and understanding and resolution of interpersonal conflict, all through the constructive use of differences.
